SW governor debunks rumors of travel ban as dark cloud looms over national day celebrations

In a communiqué dated today May 18th 2018, the governor of South West Region Barnard Okalia Bilai has debunked rumors circulating on social media about a travel ban restricting the movement of people by government.

Cameroonians had taken to different social media platforms to announce to love ones and friends that the government has banned all inter-urban transportation and blocked land, sea and air border from Friday 18th night till Monday   21st morning ahead of national day celebrations

The news which quickly went viral, cause panic as many residents were forced to rush put of major towns in the Anglophone regions ahead of the 20th May celebrations as security remains sky high following repeated threats from so called ambazonian defense forces to destabilize operations during the day

In the one page communiqués, the south West regional chief debunks the rumors, says apart from the ban on circulation of motorbike from 7PM till morning dally, the government has not taken any other measure restriction movement of persons, calling on law abiding people of the region to continue with their activities normally in civility.
