Breaking: Panic and palm oil conundrum spreads as fake news of deathly explosion at Lake Awing goes viral in Anglophone Cameroon
The Anglophone community especially those in the North West region have wake up in the early hours of May 19th 208 with mounting rumors making dangerous waves on social media platforms
Rumors are circulating that the Lake Awing has exploded in the North West Region with a dangerous substance intended to kill many people by the government of Cameroon.

The news has forced many people around that part of the country to wake up with litters of palm oil for breakfast as perpetrators of the said information claims the liquid would help neutralize the effect of the supposed dangerous substance
Social media users have taken to different social media platforms like Facebook and whatsapp to call on relatives around the area and as far as Buea in the South West region to consume at least 3 litters palm oil to be saved


TeboPost has reached out this early morning to some residents around Lake Awing and can confirm that no such explosion has taken place and the places there around the Lake remain calm and serene
The government is yet to officially issue a statement to debunk the rumors as most government officials are still at seep by the time the fake news broke out
It is however believed that thef ake news was spread with the intention to spread area n panic in some quarters of the country
