Eto’o backed candidate wins FECAFOOT top job

The counting has is over at the CAF’s excellence center in Mbankomo in Yaoundé. Seidou MBOMBO NJOYA victor wins with a total of 46 votes out of 66 voters against Joseph Antoine BELL his main challenger who follows him with 17 votes followed by 03 votes for Daniel NYAMSI MONGUE.

Six years after the spectacular arrest of Iya Mohammed, who presided over the destinies of the Cameroon Football Federation since 2000, the institution that manages Cameroonian football has a new president.

 Since 2013, three directorates have succeeded one another, including two standardization committees and an elected office that could not withstand the verification of the courts.

Voting activities took place this Wednesday at the CAF Center of Excellence in Mbankomo, a suburb of the political capital of Cameroon, Yaoundé. Despite some vocal hissing around the person Dieudonné Happi who wanted to manage everything in his own way, the work was peaceful.

All candidates have committed to respect the results out of the ballot box, hoping that the winner will completely devote himself to developing football and working consensually.

The winner of today’s vote was heavily backed by government and surprisingly football legend Samule Eto’o Fils and he was widely expected to win the race
