Dion Ngute replaces Yang in what promises to be a sweeping cabinet shakeup

Former minister of special duties at the presidency, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute has been appointed to replace Philemon yang as next prime miter of Cameroon

The appointment which took place today 4th January 2019 comes a day after the former’s house was set ablaze by armed separatists belonging to the Ambazonian movement

Born on March 12, 1954, Joseph Dion Ngute is a career diplomat who bagged a Ph.D at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

He previously served as the as the Director of Advanced School of Administration and Magistracy ENAM in 1991 before he entered government on the 7 December 1997 when he was appointed as Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in Charge of the Commonwealth- a position he held till March 2, 2018 before moving to the Presidency.

The paramount ruler of the Barombi tribe, Ndian Division of the South West region comes as a surprise to many as many other names have been floated to be the potential successor of North West Born Philemon yang

The New prime minster will have as immediate file the ravaging Anglophone crisis in his native Anglophone region of South West and North West which has been preoccupying the government for over two years now

His appointment today sets into motion potential massive cabinet shakeup in the buildup as many ministers and government dignitaries are expected to be fired
