Jovi’s feud with MI and Sarkodie rifts a chicken-hearted 237 music industry
The Feud between Ndukong Godlove aka Jovi and a set of self-acclaimed best African rappers is moving to another level and like any rap feud, it’s getting dirtier and nastier by the hour.
The Cameroonian rapper and arguably kamer’s King of hip-hop took offense with Nigerian heavyweight MI who said he (MI) is Africa’s best.
MI ignorantly invited more trouble for himself when he rolls out a list of countries with the best rappers in Africa, ignoring Cameroon and angering the man many believe should have been on the list of these super achievers in motherland Africa.
Jovi wasted no time to fire a cross border “missile” attack, taking to his favorite platform twitter to launch his tirade. Jovi says he is the best in Africa, adding that he has done a lot for the rap world and deserves the top spot even as he did not make MI’s top five rappers list in the continent.
He promised to “body” the rapper in the next 48 hours with a dis track for his crime in the rap community and MI replied with a tweet of his own.
Tweeting an emoji of some speakers sandwiched between popcorn and listening ears. Jovi followed-up his promise 48 hours later with a dis track – titled “Big Bang”.
The dis track sent his followers to social media overdrive and drawing other artists in the country and beyond into the fray-the fight has started.
“My enemies team together, thinking I will be bordered, but I kept acting like a man whose priorities are in order” Jovi sings in a track his critics say falls below the standard of a dis track.
His followers are however not buying it, haling their own as Africa’s finest and saying MI has outlived his usefulness in the continent.
“Don’t get it twisted that was not a diss song it is a God speaking and educating.. as we over like for misunderstand and judge/ conclude base on ur misunderstanding hence undermind ours. Gods don’t diss they educate and teach how to love #Godsangle #MbokoGod #BigBang “ A mboko gang member tweeted
Don’t get it twisted that was not a diss song it is a God speaking and educating.. as we over like for misunderstand and judge/ conclude base on ur misunderstanding hence undermind ours. Gods don’t diss they educate and teach how to love #Godsangle #MbokoGod #BigBang 🔥🇨🇲🇨🇲🛫🛫

Cameroonian artists have been divided over the feud between Jovi and Naija’s MI and now Ghana’s duel- Sarkodie and Lyrical Joe.
Rapper Ko-C, a man many say mirrors Sarkodie’s rap style and is the next big thing in the continent has taken to twitter to defend his fellow countryman, saying he believes Jovi is the best in the continent
We don’t need validation from any African Rapper to tell us how good we are. @JoviLeMonstre I will mention your name this time because jokes aside you’re the best whoever did it soo far in and out of Cameroon 🇨🇲, so there is nothing to prove anymore Grand frère
— Ko-C (ÇA A CUIT) (@KO_Cofficial) September 15, 2019
But very few people can attest to the influence Jovi has in the rap game in 237 then Ko-C who has had a fight of his own with the Mboko god as he is adorably called by his followers.
For a man whose music is next to religion for his millions of fans and his lyrics street anthems amongst many, there is no doubt he is one of Africa’s finest and requires no validation from a foreign land.
Artist Blaise B also took to twitter to support their own, tweeting

But the silence and fear from many back home in the face of an onslaught against one of their and truly the industry they represent has been appalling.
Some little known kamer rappers embarrassingly took to the studios to release a dis track against Jovi instead, perhaps “dising” him for standing up to defend them.
There is no doubt that Jovi has more than enough tool in his nuclear toolbox to eliminate any home-based adversary or potential adversary in a career fight- the question many now ask is how far can his strike go beyond the borders of Cameron as the feud goes international.
Jovi’s music has come to redefine rap culture in Cameroon and beyond.
He has created his brand and defended Cameroon vigorously beyond the country’s border, protecting the territory he believes he reigns large a king even as some locals strenuously compete for the position with him
His Music resonates with the people in the streets, his lyrics are violent and his gang deadly-epitomizing a true rap culture.
In the early hours of Saturday, September 21st, 2019, Jovi upped the antic in his twitter feud which is having an effect in the studio and resonating across the continent, challenging Ghana’s rap kingpin Sarkodie for a fight of their own.
“It would have been a lil more interesting if you were the one in the booth.
Just remember we gotta do it English because we got a lot of people watching, I myself I left a couple of languages behind for this one” the rapper tweeted, blasting Sarkodi’s culture of doing his game in his native tongue.
The Ghanaian superstar had fired a warning shot by tweeting a recently released dis track of his fellow countryman lyrical Joe aimed at Jovi an hour earlier in apparent support to MI.
It would have been a lil more interesting if you were the one in the booth . Just remember we gotta do it English because we got a lot of people watching, I myself I left a couple of languages behind for this one. 🙏🏿😊 https://t.co/gjbWyywQqJ
— #GodDonKam (@JoviLeMonstre) September 21, 2019
The Mboko gang-a brand name for Jovi’s followers once again embraced the fight even as critics worry it could be a career-ending one for their idol back home given the rap status of Sarkodie in the continent and beyond.
Denzel tweeted his worry with the attack on Sarkodie, saying” You’ve got HUUUUGGEEEE f*cken balls coming after a big fish like Sarkodie tho. And I haven’t seen u disrespect him so far so I’ve got to give u that. Good luck. You might need it” and Jovi fired back immediately in a tit-for-tat which leaves no one spared.
You’ve got HUUUUGGEEEE f*cken balls coming after a big fish like Sarkodie tho. And I haven’t seen u disrespect him so far so I’ve got to give u that. Good luck. You might need it😂😂😂😂😂

While the feud, for now, involves Jovi and the rest, many back home who aspire to gain international attention are increasingly under pressure to support their own and help put the industry on the world stage-at least.
Some are worry, however, whether to support their own or stay on the sidelines in a battlefield of firing rap missiles pupping from all direction with everybody a potential target.
No evidence found: Judge dismisses case pitting Cameroonian entertainment heavyweights
No Evidence Found- case dismissed
The case between popular Cameroonian actress Syndy Emade and celebrity blogger cum TV host Joan Ngomba has been dropped due to lack of evidence and request from the plaintiff.
The statement was issued through a press release yesterday August 25th 2019 by the communication team of the famed blogger who doubles as CEO of Decoded TV, Joan Ngomba
Syndy Emade had accused Joan about 18 months ago for plagiarism and piracy for the movie “A man for the week end”. Joan has always denied all charges and the case has been in court for over a year now.
But after multiple court hearings with Syndy and her lawyer refusing to show up in court on multiple occasions, the judge finally dismissed case for lack of evidence as the plaintiff had also requested for the case to end.
The case pitting two heavy weights in the country’s entertainment industry generated huge debates especially in English speaking regions of the country and the dismissal has been hugely Welcomed by fans of the famed blogger.
In July 19th 2018, Joan Ngomba was briefly arrested and detained at the Buea Central police alongside her collaborator Tino Foy over allegations that she illegally gave the movie titled A “ A man for the week end” to Tino who reviewed it on his social media page even without attending the movie premiers.
Joan and Tino denied any wrongdoing in the allegations
R. Kelly’s 2 girlfriends have been living at the singer’s Chicago home shows support in court to the embattled super star
The two women whose parents fear have been “brainwashed” by R. Kelly have been living at the R&B singer’s Chicago home and walking his Pomeranian named “Believe” while he’s been in jail, Kelly’s lawyer told INSIDER.
Kelly appeared in a New York courtroom on Friday to be arraigned on new federal charges, including racketeering and violating federal trafficking laws.
Prosecutors allege that Kelly ran an elaborate enterprise to exploit women and young girls and coerce them into committing illegal sexual activity. Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charges on Friday, and his lawyer, Steve Greenberg, said his client will likely be transported back to a Chicago jail after the hearing.
Greenberg told INSIDER that Kelly’s two live-in girlfriends, Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage, also flew to New York to attend court in support of the embattled singer.
Kelly has been incarcerated in a Chicago jail since July 11, when he wasarrested on new federal sex-crime charges brought by prosecutors in Chicago. Altogether, Kelly is now facing both state charges and federal charges in Illinois, as well as federal charges in New York.
Clary and Savage’s parents have been outspoken about their fears that their daughters are being held against their will. The parents also took part in the Lifetime documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly,” which chronicled their failed efforts to bring the women back to their families.
The popular series also featured a number of women who accused Kelly of holding them in a “sex cult,” where he controlled aspects of their lives like how they dressed, when they ate, when they used the restroom, and whom they spoke to.
Greenberg said Clary and Savage are not being held in any such conditions, and have willingly lived at Kelly’s Chicago condo since his arrest last month.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh they’re sex slaves.’ They came to bond court when he got arrested on the state charges, they came to bond court when he got arrested not he federal charges. I mean, these are not people who are being held hostage,” Greenberg said. “They have been out and about in the city of Chicago since he’s been locked up.”
Greenberg added that the women just visited him at his Chicago office last week, where he accompanied them on a walk with the singer’s dog.
“These are not people who have been chained to a post inside the place,” Greenberg said. “I was over at his condo dozens of times — there’s not buckets waiting for people to pee in. All of that is just so absurd.”
Clary and Savage have also spoken publicly about their relationship with Kelly, explaining the arrangement to CBS’s Gayle King in an interview in March.
“We both have our individual relationships with him, and we all are family all together,” Clary told King. “We have our moments where we sit and watch movies all together, we go to amusement parks all together.”
